Congratulations Chess Team!

The Sentinel Tribune writes, "Montessori School of Bowling Green extended its state title win streak to four, while Bowling Green Middle School won its first state chess title ever at the 2009 Ohio Grade Level Chess Championships held Nov. 21 at Owens Community College.
An estimated 400 students competed in the K-12 event, representing 112 elementary schools, junior highs and high schools from the state.
The Montessori School of Bowling Green won its fourth consecutive state grade-level title and did so by the largest point spread of the entire tournament. Winning the 2009 Ohio Sixth Grade Chess Championship was the team of Isaac Rogers, Robert Hoffman, Anthony Shepherd and Spencer Rogers. These boys also won individual honors, placing fourth, fifth, 11th and 17th respectively. In addition, Montessori School won third place among Ohio's fourth-graders, led by the team of Elana Cable, Jared Bech-stein and Kale Nichols. Amanda Hoffman, Aubrey Bartman and Lily Krueger took fourth place among Ohio's fifth-grade teams.
The youngest player from the Montessori this year was 6-year old Jeremy Mahoney, who took fourth in the first-grade section.
Bowling Green Middle School won the Ohio Seventh Grade Chess Championship with the team of Luke Corrigan, Matthew Hardaway, David Myerholtz, Maverick Spears and Nicholas Van Vorhis...", three of whom are MSBG alumni. Congratulations MSBG students and alumni!
